Mark Wesolowski opened the doors of Renew Restoration in February of 1996 after years of working in this highly specialized field, performing restoration and supervising numerous commercial and residential projects throughout Washington DC, Northern Virginia, and Baltimore. 

 

    Over the years, Renew has worked to perfect the art of restoration, combining old style craftsmanship with modern weather stripping and epoxies to craft a historically correct and energy-efficient window. 

 

    The Renew staff takes professionalism very seriously and we want to assure our customers that we take the utmost care while working in their home or building. Renew has an EPA Certified Renovator on staff to ensure the job site remains clean of debris that may or may not contain lead. Full cleaning includes HEPA vac, dry/static wipes, and wet wipes to collect any dirt particles. Poly plastic walls are also used in most situations.

Wood Window Restoration

Our window technicians, with their years of experience, can take the most damaged sash and frames and restore them to their original beauty using the finest techniques in historic restoration. Where necessary, existing paint will be stripped, epoxy will be applied to damaged areas, and broken glass will be removed, replaced and re-glazed. Then, weather-strip will be installed, and the sash and frame will be finished with the highest quality paints. Finally, new or restored hardware will be installed.

 

Wood Window Installation

Renew Restoration’s installers are dedicated to providing precision installation of the windows that will function for years to come.

 

Wood Door Restoration & Installation

Doors are removed and stripped of existing paint, damaged areas are repaired, and broken glass is replaced. The final steps are to replace weather stripping, paint and install new or restored hardware.

 

Window, Door & Sash Replication

Renew has the experience, craftsmanship, and ability to replicate any wood window, or door.

 

Glass Replacement

As part of the restoration or replication process, we use existing antique glass, restoration glass, replacement glass or insulated glass. 

 

Weather Stripping

We use a mix of early style and modern weather stripping, custom-designed and milled into window components to seal restored and replicated windows. 

 

Replacement Hardware & Sash Chain

Lift handles, locks, pull sockets and pulley hardware can either be replaced or refurbished. Existing Sash Chain can be replaced with matching chain. Interior & Exterior Shutter reproduction, restoration and/or replicatation to match existing.

 

Metal Window Restoration

Glass, glazing, hardware, and weather- stripping are all replaced as needed, and windows are then painted.

 

Restoration Consulting and Surveying

Evaluate window condition, develop specifications, and survey windows.

 

Storm Windows

Our non-obtrusive, low profile wood/aluminum storm windows can be installed to protect windows. They will also help in reducing air infiltration and overall insulation of windows.

 

Glazing

Specific for wood and metal windows.

 

Custom Fabrication

Custom design, fabrication and instullation of windows, doors, storms, shutters and other architectual features.
